Addiction treatment, detoxification, withdrawal
Heavy and sustained drug and alcohol use takes an enormous physical and emotional
toll on a person. A detoxification - or withdrawal - needs to occur before an individual can benefit from rehabilitation. Medical supervision is necessary because withdrawal from alcohol and/or drugs can be life threatening. Various medications may be used to reduce withdrawal and physical discomfort while physical status is monitored.
For patients who are admitted to our residential programs, a 24-hour detoxification period is required - but the length varies depending upon the individual's needs.
Outpatient detoxification services are also available for addiction to pain medications, narcotics and other opiates. Detoxification is medically supervised and clients can receive services while living at home or they can live on campus.
