Recovery Home

Hazelden's recovery home in Chicago provides a structured, safe, and sober living environment for men and women in early recovery from addiction. Outpatient alcohol and drug treatment

Our intensive outpatient program works under the same principles as a residential program and provides individualized focus within the program structure. Each client receives an individualized treatment plan as well as individualized continuing care recommendations. A separate program specifically for women allows women to explore sensitive issues with peers in a safe and supportive environment. Throughout the treatment experience, clients actively participate in educational lectures, group therapy, one-to-one counseling, Twelve Step meetings, spirituality work and peer interaction. Alcohol and drug assessment

For many, the treatment experience begins with a comprehensive residential evaluation. At Hazelden, we do not assume a diagnosis of alcoholism or other addictions. Patients undergo an evaluation and diagnosis, complete medical assessment and examination, psychological assessment, drug and alcohol assessment, spiritual assessment, and psychiatric assessment. At its conclusion, recommendations are made to the patient, referent, and family as appropriate.

Adult early intervention education services

Sober apartments

Hazelden offers sober apartment living for men 18 and older who need more time practicing recovery but who no longer need the support of the Sober Residence. Located just a few blocks away from the main Chicago campus, the sober apartments offer another level of care to meet the needs of clients. The apartments are only available to clients who have already completed the Sober Residence program and are willing to make a 90-day commitment. Clients have access to a recovery coach who is provided through the main Chicago campus.
