Hazelden's Tribeca Twelve residence, alcohol and drug free housing for college students in recovery, located at 283 West Broadway, provides young adults in recovery from addiction an independent,  living environment with fully integrated support services, access to many recreational activities and special events. Tribeca Twelve is ideal for young adults attending college or planning to return to college who are looking for an exciting and welcoming place to live, develop healthy friendships, and achieve success.

Men and women, ages 18 to 29, find Tribeca Twelve a fun, friendly environment with fabulous accommodations in a vibrant, exciting neighborhood. Friendships for life are forged with people who understand the struggles of recovery and are eager to celebrate the successes. Parents can be assured that their child is in a safe, supportive and secure environment.

Hazelden is deeply committed to helping more people find freedom from drug and alcohol addiction, and our new collegiate recovery program opens the door to that new life for young adults who are committed to their college education while staying clean and sober. 

Housed in a completely renovated 1910 apartment building, Tribeca Twelve accommodates 30 students, with six men or six women on each of the five floors.  Women reside on the top two floors.

Distinctive programming features include:

• dedicated recovery coaches to provide individual coaching, education, academic liaison services, special events and activities, and structured monitoring
• individualized recovery care plans designed to support the college student's sobriety, academic programming, and work life
• coordination of care with independent treatment providers
• peer support and activities to address concerns and celebrate successes
• drug testing to detect possible relapse and allow for early intervention to restore sobriety or transfer to a higher level of care
• special programs and services to support lifelong recovery from alcohol and drug addiction

Hazelden and Columbia Psychiatry partner

Hazelden has partnered with Columbia Psychiatry to develop an addiction treatment and recovery continuum of care for college students. In particular, this unprecedented continuum of care will address the unique needs of young adults who have co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders, such as depression or bipolar disorder.

Columbia Psychiatry's highly regarded College Student Program has provided specialized outpatient treatment for alcohol and drug addiction and mental health disorders since 1983. Hazelden has more than 60 years of helping people find and sustain lifelong recovery from addiction. Together, Columbia Psychiatry and Hazelden provide a state-of-the-art treatment and recovery continuum of care for college students.

The affiliation also provides Columbia Psychiatry's expert clinical care to Hazelden's young adult population in need of highly specialized mental health services — not only to those residents of Tribeca Twelve needing services but also those receiving outpatient addiction treatment at Hazelden's Chelsea location.

Hazelden's collegiate recovery residence brings the best of clinical care and recovery support to young adults committed to their sobriety. Programming features on-site resources designed to help reduce the risk of relapse and support an alcohol and drug free recovery lifestyle filled with camaraderie, fun and success. Specifically, the facility features:

• 2,200 square-foot furnished apartments with full kitchen, dining room, large living room with fireplace, separate study, two full bathrooms and in-unit laundry
• easy access to public transportation for convenient travel to most major colleges and universities in New York City
• separate community space and roof top deck
• secured key card access to the apartment building and each student floor
• on-site Twelve Step meetings and alumni activities
• a confidential social networking site for residents to stay connected with family and friends
• free in-unit laundry, periodic housekeeping, utilities, flat screen TV, kitchen supplies, wireless internet and cable service.
